wasn't trying to be rude, just the suggestions--sm

given had absolutely nothing to do with the low back, which she specifically mentioned in her post. Not all MTs are way off in what they are asking about or looking for and some of these suggestions that have nothing to do with their requests can be very misleading, as well. JMO and again, not meant to be rude.

I agree that you could have been much more considerate when helping someone. Everyone has to learn some time and not everyone knows everything about every speciality.

It seems to me you are throwing some of these new MTs WAY off by reading some of your posts. Hopefully you don't wing it like that when you're doing QA.
Don't be rude . . .

I do QA all day long, and believe me the MT with the question can be way off. Sometimes taking theh s/l seriously can put them back on track.

If you don't want to answer, don't.

If you feel the message should be reported for any reason, do so.

Do NOT be rude to those asking for help on this board.

I have had to deal with rude respones, if people are going to respond rudely, I agree with you, just don't bother. I work for an ENT and have never heard the word you were looking for.

Subject: not to be rude but Stedman's has been....sm

Not to be rude - it IS coffee grounds that one can vomit and when used as a noun, but when it's used as an adjective, it is coffee-ground emesis....I suppose it could be an either-or so I'm not giving anyone an argument.  Just have seen Stedman's be wrong on many occasions and I don't use Stedmans as a result.

To each his/her own....

additional info:

coffee-ground emesis is old blood in the vomitus, coffee-ground vomitus.

I read both of your posts and it was a bit confusing to me. If you are asking what the word *saline* may be than that would clear it up. The confusion is that you put *saline s/l*. Normally, people put the s/l before the word they are trying to figure out. If there is another word in the sentence that goes after saline, you have to give us what it sounds like. If the sounds like is saline, that would help to clear it up.
not OP responder but I don't think it was rude
Subject: not OP responder but I don't think it was rude

I think YOU need to toughen up your skin - and to say *thanks for nothing* to the person responding to you AND WHO GAVE YOU THE CORRECT ANSWER was REALLY VERY RUDE on your part, more rude than your perception of the responder.

Do you really think another person is going to want to help you on the word board in the future when you say *thanks for nothing* when the correct answer is supplied to you?

The least you could have done was say - *no need to be rude but thanks for the answer*...and again, with a :) in the subject line (smiley icon) - seems to me the responder was not rude.

Just an observer here........who believes in being fair and just.

Rude post
Subject: Rude post

Whoever asked - do you utilize any resources - you are rude and make the rest of the "nice" MTs look bad - this person needed immediate help - what would it hurt to have just answered the question - I hope you never post to this word board and if you do that no one will give you the satisfaction of any kind of response - or perhaps respond to you with an incorrect answer that you will naively take as truth!

out of their day to be helpful to other MTs on this board - and you insult them!  The nerve of you.  You should consider the fact that although not all responses are correct, the MT on the other end makes the ultimate decision - these are just suggestions - not set in stone.  Maybe we should all stay off this board and let you take over - you seem to be so much more experienced.

It isn't rude to direct someone to a resource that
Subject: It isn't rude to direct someone to a resource that

If a reliable resource had been used, it could have defrazzled the MT looking for a quick fix answer. There is that saying about teaching someone to fish versus just giving him a fish that really applies to being an MT. This MT wanted someone else to think for him/her. So okay, everyone has bad days, but a good MT practices sound research regardless of the day. The poster you referred to as rude was polite enough to point the OP to a site where the entire medication database can be downloaded onto his/her PC and can perform searches in a variety of ways for FREE, and get free updates to drugs as they come out. That doesn't sound as though the responding poster was being entirely rude.

Your comments about hoping the offending responder being given an incorrect answer on purpose was actually much more rude than the one trying to teach the OP to fish.
I still think your post was very rude and uncalled for.

It was almost midnight last night and my Stedman book lists about 15 "M" signs. I was hoping someone could help narrow the search, and yes, of course, I would look up any definition before using it. I sent it to QA due to the late hour. I'll have more time to devote to it today.
Thanks!

and it still may be what he is saying, but as you guys mentioned, rather than 'maneuver' it is usually followed by either 'sign' or 'test'. It really sounds like Dover's (or 'there was'), so I am just not sure.

Thanks again for the thoughts.

did not work.  I wound up for a second losing sound through my headphones.  I'll try again when I have a little time to spare.  It is actually just this one particular doc I have to turn up, so usually it is not really a big deal, but man, is it loud for this guy.  I cannot seem to locate the spellcheck under your second suggestion.  Thanks so much for replying.  I really appreciate it.

Darnit.  He speaks English very plainly, so unless there is a skip on the tape or something, I have no idea.  I think I'm going to have to leave a blank this time.  There is no mention of this diagnosis anywhere else in the report either.  I wonder if QA will be able to get it.

with the word impingement, however. Impingement of a walker, leg brace or artificial knee joint does not make sense if it's a hip, as the sites I found suggest. The sites I found suggest it is another name for a specific part of the femoral head.
