thyroid nodule/renal ultrasound

Subject: thyroid nodule/renal ultrasound

The doctor mentions the patient has a thyroid nodule with benign renal biopsy.  Why would it be a renal biopsy?  I am not familiar with the association between the two or perhaps I am just not hearing it correctly.  Feedback from anyone?

Thanks for the help and replies.  Word sounds like it could be "dies", however this doesn't really make sense in the sentence:  Ultrasound done under "dies" the patient underwent paracentesis to remove ascitic fluid.  It's probably something really easy, but it's just not coming to me.

Not sure if this is the right board - OB ultrasound question
Subject: Not sure if this is the right board - OB ultrasound question

At my last job, the estimated age by ultrasound was an average of the four measurements (BPD, HC, AC, FL).  Are there other ways of deriving the estimated age by ultrasound?

The reason I am asking is that on my current account, although usually the EAU is an average, sometimes it will be the oldest date of the four, and sometimes it will be the youngest. Sometimes it is in between, but when I figure it up, it's still a couple of days off.

I asked the radiologist if he wanted me to bring this to my attention and he said don't worry about it, he just reads it off the screen, and they have some kind of formula for figuring these things up.

So I am not bringing it to his attention any more - but I just got another one where the EAU was the youngest measurement given. And it just bugs me.
