the way i understand it... barrett's is caused by exposure of the esophagus to stomach acid...which can be due to lots of reasons. you're correct that barrett's is "secondary to esophagitis" but technically esophagitis can be secondary to barrett's (exposure to acid)...bottom line...don't sweat the small stuff...just give them what they say :)
