It is really hard to tell though if they are using the brand name. I usually just put "Steri-strips".

If I can SEE the bottle and see how it is written on the actual bottle, then I take that as "gospel." In this case I looked around and had no luck finding a picture of the bottle but did find some pictures of the SennaLax pills. It is my thought that the "S" at the end may indicate syrup. When you change the form of a proper name it is not capitalized. For example, bovied, kocherized, steri-stripped, etc. That being said, I would recast the sentence, if allowed, to say Steri-Strips were applied.
