The patient's sphincter tone is moderate. Tactis anastomosis is palpable just at the anal verge.

to research this myself. It's not just something I knew. I didn't find it in my medical books, and found it googling thumbs-up sign and something similar to your s/l. I just took a wild guess it might be the same as a thumbs-up sign because that was logical.
