Rison is a slang word for a boil. When I was a little girl growing up in Alabama, that's what my grandmother called a boil. I'm not sure how you would spell it since it isn't a real word.

Also looking at Stedmans Ortho word book, fifth edition but dated 2005. Is this too old to consider purchasing? How do you know when a new edition will be coming out?
