I think it makes sense if she is currently pregnant. Gravida 11 -- pregnant 11 times, then the 2-0-8-2 means she has had 2 live births/ 0 preterm births / 8 miscarriages / 2 living children.

All CP issues aside, I have always been told to not take it upon ourselves to abbreviate unless the dictator abbreviates. I wouldn't "zing" someone for it, but would probably correct it and put a comment.

Dictated as "G3 P2 100." Not sure how to transcribe it properly. TIA.

Usually the para is a single number or set of 4. If there's a 4th number just add another hyphen.

I'm still a student, and I've been presented with the phrase "gravida 5, para 4-1-1-3, and asked if it "refers to 5 pregnancies resulting in 4 full-term deliveries plus 1 premature birth plus 1 abortion/miscarriage with 3 living children".
My belief is that 4 full-term, 1 premie, and 1 miscarriage should add up to gravida 6, making the above formula invalid. Is that an accurate assessment, or am I missing something?

G 5 P 4-1-1-3 actually means that this female was pregnant 5 times, gave 4 living births (not full-term), one of these 4 was a preterm baby, she had one abortion or still birth, and she has 3 living children.
I hope that I was of any help.

Do you type this as:
G2, P2-0-02, or
G 2 P 2-0-0-2?
I put a space in between the G/number and P/number. Am I doing this wrong? If we were typing out the words, we'd be typing gravida 2, para 2. Thoughts?
QA question; gravida/para
Is the rule still to spell out gravida para abortus if the number 0 is dictated with them, i.e., dictated G1, P0 transcribed as gravida 1, para 0. I can't find this is the second edition of BOS.
Another question...gravide 4 or gravida IV?
