concerning partial glossectomy
Subject: concerning partial glossectomy
The phrase he uses is enteral partial glossectomy. Am I hearing the enteral word correctly? I cannot verify this and it really does not sound right because enteral would be referring more to the intestine. I'm thinking it is another word and I'm just not catching it tonight.
Honestly - the last 10 days have been simply cram-packed with all kinds of things and I am run down and just about brain dead tonight! I'm sure you all can relate but if someone could help with this word, I'd appreciate it!! Thanks to all!

Procedure: Patient was brought to the operating room where general anesthesia was administered. Examination under anesthesia revealed a uterus of approximately 8 to 10 week size. No adnexal masses were appreciated. Patient was prepped and draped in the usual manner for vaginal surgery. A weighted retractor was placed in the posterior aspect of the vagina. Anterior lip of cervix grasped with tenaculum. The cervix was then progressively dilated with Pratt dilators, and a #8 curved suction curette easily introduced into the uterine cavity. Products of conception were then evacuated. The uterine cavity was then sharply curetted and additional tissues sent to pathology. The tenaculum and retractor were then removed, and procedure was thus completed. Estimated blood loss was minimal. Patient tolerated the procedure well and taken to recovery room in stable condition.

Seizures, I think?
Subject: Seizures, I think?
In the assessment, this doc is saying allergic rhino sinusitis with **seizure nod-ur-ations**. I am not even real sure about the seizure part, and there was never anything said about seizures in the history. This is geriatric medicine visit and the only thing in history is about depression, past medical history of hyperlipidemia and allergic rhino sinusitis.
Thanks for any help! I know it's not much to work with.

Could you be hearing absence (ab-sonz) seizures or they might be pronouncing it absenz seizures?
absence seizure
a seizure characterized by impaired awareness of interaction with, or memory of, ongoing events external or internal to the person; may comprise the following elements: mental confusion, diminished awareness of environment, inability to respond to internal or external stimuli, and amnesia. (The term absence was first used by Louis-Florentin Calmeil (1798–1895) to introduce the concept of epileptic absence for the brief loss of consciousness or confusion seen in epileptic patients.)
