Patient with diabetes who has an ulceration on her foot - dictator says patient will use Panafil and Fibracol, and "she will continue to wear the darka postop shoe with a forefoot wedge."

She does have some erythema in her perineum and her buttocks. She is not tender in this area, and there is no s/l screpadence or sucrepadence or induration noted.
Anyone doing MT should know if a period is required after postop.

The doc is describing an offloading shoe. He pronounces it "I-PRO" but I can't find that anywhere. The closest I can get is in my Stedman's Equipment Words, "ipos heel relief shoe," but the doctor specifically says it is to shift weight TO the heel, for a forefoot amputation site wound. Anybody?

As you can see, I am really reaching for this one. This is a type of shoe that is worn when someone has an ankle fracture. I'm thinking it could be "tarsal shoe" but then it almost sounds like "Harstel shoe" or something else entirely. I need an expert on shoe types and/or orthopedics to help me!
