Vital Signs: Chem BG 251. Chem BG usually runs between 120 and 126.
I have googled and looked through all of my lab books. I think they are talking about finger stick glucose (bg=blood glucose). Anyone familiar with the term?

It's a chemistry panel. There's also chem-7, chem-14, and chem-20, probably others. For instance, the chem-14 is the CMP and does 14 chemistries: glucose, calcium, albumin, total protein, sodium, potassium, etc. I don't know offhand what all is in the chem-18.
Chem-7
Subject: Chem-7
Good Question!
I use Chem-7 because this test is the same as SMA-7, and I find the SMA tests listed with hyphens in Stedman's Abbreviations, Acronyms, & Symbols.
I would think that any of the 3 ways would probably be okay to use unless your client/employer has a preference.
