Subject: s/l bedical backup.... doesnt sound like medical
This is a letter concerning your June 21, 2006 correspondence in which you alleged that I tried to admit a patient without a proper **bedical** backup.
I performed surgery on a patient who is 307 pounds who is being treated at Medical University for a variety of medical problems. She was completely cleared by Medical University for surgery. I made a decision at that time to have her for 23-hour observation and pain control until the next morning.

I found this on site for patents for heart valves: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6797002.html
"If extending substantially in the same plane, the post prevents outward bellowing of the valve leaflets, while if extending substantially out of the plane, the post simply functions to connect and modify the shape of opposite sides of the annulus."

I would take the tape out, shut down the transcriber, set it as low as possible and try again, you may have it set wrong. I never used the backup at all. If you have to, why not purchase a Sanyo instead of a Sony as they're cheaper, can pick one up locally and there won't be tapes much longer anyway, I assume. It must be very annoying. I have had to do this at a local office supply (Staples for us) either late at night or early in the a.m., and chose a cheaper brand than Sony, ? Olympus, Sanyo, etc. Sometimes you can't wait, been there. Check out Martel on the web, used to ship overnight. Good luck. Some docs still use tapes, I know, you just have to go along to get along.

She describes her (s/l backup) level of pain as roughly 4/10, but it can rise a bit higher with overhead work use.
I don't really think backup works here. The doctor says it really fast.
Do you have any suggestions of what it could be instead?

Thorn test
A putative test of adrenal cortical function; stimulation of a normally functioning adrenal cortex by the adrenocorticotrophic hormone is followed by a reduction in the number of circulating eosinophils and lymphocytes and an increase in the excretion of uric acid. The test lacks sufficient specificity and is rarely used.

While I realize it is the OP's responsibility to doublecheck whatever answers received here, and it's fine to be lazy in any other posts on the board, but IMO, it's still a good idea to give correct answers -- spelling, capitalization, and all -- when providing word help. Otherwise, if the OP is also "lazy" it will end up in a medical record the wrong way. Not major in this case, but could be in others ...
Just my opinion, of course.

dictionary before using it. Decubitus is an adjective - it describes the type of ulcer, or type of position. I don't think you can make an adjective in the plural form.
If you google "decubiti plural", you'll see a list of medical books that quote it to be an incorrect form.
I think it's just one of those things that so many people have accepted it in that form that they think it's correct, when it really isn't.

great site: Onelook.com You can enter partial words, for instance, you couldn't quite remember the exact spelling, but you knew it began with o and ended with -mycosis. So you could enter o*mycosis and it would give you a list of words and dictionaries containing that word. It's a very handy site when you just can't quite find something.
