right parietal lade??
Subject: right parietal lade??

Has anyone heard of this term- right parietal lade?  He spells it out rather than says it so I don't know if it is an acronym.  The sentence goes: Head CT with an old left parietal CVA, left caudate lacunar CVA with moderate subcortical changes.  There is right parietal "L A D E" (spelling it out only) with cortical necrosis.

I cannot find this term anywhere, as a regular term or as an acronym.  Can anyone help??

Thanks!

Subject: gram-negative, lactose-negative rods is correct. I found a couple of interesting websites SM

after doing a google search for gram-negative, lactose-negative rods.  Basically testing organisms to see if they ferment lactose (positive) or not (negative).

Also, just FYI, gram-negative is not capitalized.

Probably too late, I'm sure.  Better late than never, I guess.

aloantibody?? or aloe antibody??
Subject: aloantibody?? or aloe antibody??

More recently, the patient was found to be iron deficient and has been treated with several courses of IV Ferrlecit and also placed on Procrit to help support her hemoglobin.  This was done, because on screening for a possible transfusion, the patient was found to have ALO or ALOE ??antibodies, but the development of a new autoantibody rendering it very difficult to cross match her for red cells.  The patient, however, did not have autoimmune hemolytic anemia, just serological findings of an autoantibody.
