otherwise, how is the MT to know? Better to be corrected here than have a bad QA mark or the dictating physician find the mistake. Many of the horrific errors are things the MT should have learned in 6th grade, for goodness' sake.

We're losing our work to offshoring. We've got to clean up our acts so that we can keep our jobs. Here's a place to start.

In one of the posts here, there are 6 grammar errors. Are these errors repeated in the final product?

Congratulations, Becky, on knowing the difference between "awhile" and "a while." You're one of few.

Perhaps that poster was in the middle of a report.......so one wants the answer ASAP...but for years I mistyped Mohs....thought it was MOHS.....you know, like a flap in surgery.....and alot of them are all caps.....then my friend had to have Mohs surgery and I learned.  The great thing about MT'g is that we are continually learning new things.

type verbatim. The doc is saying pussy and that is what she should type.

If you look in the dictionary, there is a definition for pussy which means "full of or resembling pus".

You can't say "no way is "pussy" correct. You are telling her to alter the sentence and she said it is a verbatim account. It is a word.

If it is not verbatim, then alter away but you better be careful if you do this a lot.

Subject: I really don't think the poster was trying to be rude to you

I read both of your posts and it was a bit confusing to me. If you are asking what the word *saline* may be than that would clear it up. The confusion is that you put *saline s/l*. Normally, people put the s/l before the word they are trying to figure out. If there is another word in the sentence that goes after saline, you have to give us what it sounds like. If the sounds like is saline, that would help to clear it up.
QA? That poster is a QA person??...sm
Subject: QA? That poster is a QA person??...sm

must be brand new to QA....my QA person would definitely know that cold agglutinin has to do with blood and not the spine...IMHO..and wouldn't make those *most diabetics have hypertension* types of blanket statements and my QA person is up there in years of experience......and work ethics.

Who knows - anyone can be anything on this medium we call the web.

Take it all with a HUGE grain of salt, and believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear in the life.  For all we know, the poster could be a troll.  Again, we don't know that yet - we'd have to take a *wait and watch* attitude.

Subject: that's right but the poster's sentence....sm

the poster's sentence is what I was describing - here's the sentence:

Cooperative young man who tends not to be very s/l robose (roe-bose)

and so I said in the subject line - *not very talkative* - sentence being *tends not to be very verbose.....

I guess I should have explained that better in my original post - sorry about that *S*

I believe a tonsillar sponge can be used for nasal surgery. It is the shape, has nothing to do with the tonsils. When I Googled tonsillar sponge, I found a section Acute Surgical Mangement. It talks about nasal packing and if you scroll down it mentions tonsillar sponge, referring to the shape.

I wrote this one down -- cross-referencing in both "c" and "s"

Browsing this morning, I read original post and thought I had had "servant" as "cervatte" or something before -- looked up a couple different spellings, and could not find, so figured I must have been wrong and moved on. However, this one would have bugged me enough I would have spent more time searching later...

Glad you posted the correct answer.
