I am doing orthopaedic surgery work. I am not used to this specialty. Dictator keeps saying s/l ILL-ee-oh-SO-lus muscle. I cannot verify this. The closest I can find is the soleus muscle. Can anyone help me verify this?
ORTHOPAEDIC HELP??!!
Subject: ORTHOPAEDIC HELP??!!
The patient has tenderness throughout the Achilles tendon from the musculotendinous junction to its insertion site. He does not have any pain over the ____ (SOUNDS LIKE 'OWLSCOWLISIS' OR 'ASCOWLISIS'). There is not any restriction in dorsiflexion, plantar flexion, inversion, or eversion.
I have looked everywhere online - articles and pictures with diagrams - the only thing I've found that comes close is hallucis ... but what is he saying before it? It doesn't sound like abductor, flexor, or extensor.
Any suggestions???
Thanks! Jenni
