remember that docs traditionally use the term "ring finger" to indicate the finger between the long and little fingers - it's naming a specific finger, not the name of a finger condition

Per Gregg Reference (of grammar, usage, style, etc.), is lower case--master's degree, bachelor of arts degree, doctorate-- when used generally like in your example. But capitalized when used as a title, e.g., Jane Doe, Doctor of Philosophy.
Glad you asked. I needed a reminder too

If you enter s* cyst into www.onelook.com, you would have seen your answer. I think you would have been able to pick it out of the suggestions offered. Onelook is a very useful tool. Hope that helps for future.

Could "Overreactive lispossum" be "overreactive specimen?"
Originally, I was thinking "overreactive splenism" which I would edit to "overreactive spleen" but diagnoses are usually NOT listed with lab values, except maybe as a statement "consistent with..." so that probaby would be wrong, although abnormal cells listed are found in hypo- and hypersplenism.
In any case, just thoughts for future since this is a day or 2 later than original post.
Also, I saw serocytes in lab terms, and assume it should be "spherocytes." At one of my very first temporary transcription jobs at a laboratory, I had mispelled "spherocytes" and "schistocytes" and doctor whose report I typed had me come back to his office and look at slides to see the cells so I would remember in the future.
Have a great day.

Subject: For future reference, have reports similar to this quite often. I do transcribe them verbatim, this way there is no finger pointing on what we as transcriptionists take as a "liberty" in interpretation.
If it is ever in question, they can go back to the dictators original dictation (if available) and see that is what he/she said and they are directly responsible for the content of their reports.
Hope this helps.

answer to your question. The only thing I could find about NOL was in the Stedman's abbreviations book which listed NOL as "not on label." I'm wondering if that could mean investigational drugs not yet available to the public. I don't know what else "not on label" could mean. Hopefully someone else does. At least he spells it!! :)
Sorry!

answer this for you, but here we go. Under tools, go to autocorrect options. In that window, there should be a button called *exceptions*. Click on that. This will open another window. Down at the bottom, there should be a check box with the words *automatically add words to list*. If it is checked, uncheck it. Above that is an open area with the words *Don't capitalize after*... if there are any words in this open area, like your words of well, site, knee, that, health, delete them one by one by highlighting and pressing the delete button next to it. On the top of this window, there should be two other tabs labeled Initial Caps and Other Corrections. go to each tab and do the same thing by unchecking the *automatically add words to list* box and deleting any words that may be in the open area. When finished, click OKAY. close the window. click okay on the autocorrect options window, and that should take care of those words not being capitalized any longer. You may have to do this every time you do a disc clean up, though and delete cookies, etc. As far as the numbers go, I am not exactly sure there is a solution to that problem. if you have any questions, feel free to email me. ks

this fellow would call in a 6 minute dictation and then fumble through half of it (literally dead air - so productive), would carry on private conversations with other fellows, rush through the dictations she could do, and then absolutely mangle drug names, etc. Sigh. I think this is Monday not Tuesday.
