Also, I worked in a lab for many years, and gram-negative and gram-positive are not capitalized. Gram is the name of the doctor or scientist who came up with the staining test, Gram stain, so that is capped.

I have an email in to my supe to clarify this, but how do you transcribe "gram-negative" in a report?
 Capitalized or not?
I have done it both ways and have been counted off each time for it, so I am looking for a little clarity here!

 I had QA correct this:

MiraLax 7.5 g to be taken to MiraLax 7.5 grams to be taken .

If 7.5 g is wrong I've been doing it wrong for a long time.  It's not on the forbidden abbreviation list in the BOS, so now I'm stumped.

Anyone have an opinion on this?  Thanks! how about gram positive bacteremia?
