This is a new dictator for me and he says the same thing in almost every dictation.  He is stressing the AFFENDING - kind of like to let you know that it's an "A" and not "O".. 

I know of FABER, but can anyone verify reverse FABER?

Hips negative for 'reverse' FABER.

Sentence is..." Grip strength was 50-55 pounds on the left and 35-40 pounds on the right..."-----" strength was 11-12 pounds bilaterally."

It starts with a T and is a very short word, may be like Tip but really not sure. That would be a total guess. Thanks for any suggestions!!

(This is the doc who uses microcassettes, while listening to a ball game on the radio and apparently dictating on a bus or something nice and quiet like that!)

He is now 4 days out from his left arthroscopic partial medial meniscectomy, where had probably had a bucket handle tear and debridement of loose cartilage in the trochlea, where he had a 2 cm x 1 cm lesion in the midportion with good _______ s/l shoulders, and an area where he had undoubtedly impacted the bucket handle tear tear anteriorly and had a few loose flaps of cartilage that we debrided.

I'm too tired of typing to try to think of what this word really should be.  any suggestions?

TI cound not reproduce any pain in the epigastrium or in the subxiphoid area.  There was no s/l bulbar-igmea or abnormal bowel sounds.

Ortho surgeon.  Pt has foot deformity, walking on side of foot.  Surgery to establish a "plantagrade" foot.

Also sounds somewhat like "plenigrade" but I'm guessing it must be from "plantar", since it's the foot...?  Anyway, cannot find--please help!

Has anyone ever typed:  6/5 screw?  How do you space it out?

This is on an arthroscopic knee surgery. I need help on two words.

The appropriate portal incisions were made on the right knee and anterior medial portal just proximal to the patella were the (s/l ortho canon) was inserted

Also involving the posterior horn of the medial meniscus using a basket (s/l longures) and 3.5 full radius shaver.

New at ortho, and doc just dictated:  " ..sudden flare of the left 1st metatarsal phalangeal joint diagnosed as pytagra."  That's what the spelling sounds like to me, but I can't find it anywhere online or in my ref books. Any help is appreciated.  Thanks   Judy H

Total knee arthroplasty report dictates:  Prior to cementing the implants the (s/l Aqua Mantis) was used to dry the posterior capsule.  Later he says:  Additional hemostasis was acheived using the Aqua Mantis.  Any clues??

He is tender over his FCR tendon, especially near the s/l ipsiodonal or FCR donal

The doctor is doing a one-level fusion of the thoracic spine.

"I would do this through minimally invasive (s/l axial lift) approach"

"Examination of the thumb reveals (s/l shoulder) deformity, positive grind test, and crepitus......"

Even a sample sent to me has this same sentence but I've never heard of a shoulder deformity in the thumb......???? 

Distally, the distal interlock screw looks like it may have backed out slightly with his ambulation over the past couple of weeks.  That screw had great s/l perch(s)  at the time of placement as I recall.

Almost makes me think he is trying to say something like it attaches well, that is why I say perch?!  I am not sure.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

She has been in physical therapy, getting dexamethasone, s/l ion pill pheresis to that right wrist . . .
