This web site explains portals in detail. They are not just a "hole" being made (even thought there is a portal placement where they make an entrance to get in there, but these are also considered FIXED sites) It's a little confusing to understand, but a portal is not just a "hole" made. They are Fixed sites.

During the course of an aortogram, AAA repair and bifurcation graft, he exchanged 0.025 glide wires with 0.035 s/l "Mire" wires, removed the sheath and inserted the bifurcation graft. Mylar maybe (?) but was not able to verify. After deploying the graft, he passed a s/l "AquaTempo" 5-French catheter. I may have a few more of these gems before the report is finished. He is naming every single brand of all the obscure pieces of equipment he can lay his hands on.
