Anywhoo, the site: http://www.medabbrev.com/main.cfm (which you need to be a member of, I believe to access it), says cc is now to be changed to mL because it is listed as a dangerous abbreviation, along with a whole other list of em.

That's all I wanted to post.

A KUB, and abdomen series, and of course a barium enema (which can be done with air contrast as well). And a CT or MRI of the pelvis, of course.

But it would be unusual to just state "no air in the rectum" unless the doctor is discussing a bowel obstruction or something similar. Can you give us more context?

Subject: Quick Look does show it as an IV dose (sm)

Benadryl® Injection  I.M., I.V.: 10-50 mg in a single dose every 2-4 hours, not to exceed 400 mg/day.

However, fentanyl would be more common in an OP note (at least that has been my experience) and could kinda sort sound like Benadryl).  Did they give any dosage?

fentanyl - Preoperative sedation, adjunct to regional anesthesia, postoperative pain: I.M., I.V.: 50-100 mcg/dose

Subject: I just don't think a spinal tap result would show xanthochromia.

I may be wrong, but this just doesn't seem quite right. I've copied and pasted the definition from my Stedman's electronic dictionary.

xanthochromia

The occurrence of patches of yellow color in the skin, resembling xanthoma, but without the nodules or plates. Syn: yellow disease, yellow skin(1), xanthoderma(1).
