I put it that way, but it bugs me.....this doc is usually very precise and he's not a fanatic about verbatim, but he definitely didn't say "perforated", he said "perf".
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. Some abbreviations I will type out anyway, depending on the doc, but I chose not to this time. It still bugs me.
P.S. It also bugs me that you can't use quotes in your subject line. Arrrgghhh!!!

The ______ scope was passed into the posterior pharynx and at the level of the cricopharyngeus, we entered a pouch which initially we thought to be the esophagus, but then we identified that as the Zenker. As we slowly removed we identified the true lumen of the esophagus. We were able to place the anterior bill of the ______ scope.............

how do you hand bilaterally. I am very confused on the singular and plural regarding these because doctors say it both ways.
For example, examination of the hip, knee, and ankle is normal bilaterally...singular.
So, is it always singular when you use these words? or an equivalent (left and right lower extremity or extremities, etc)
I have been doing this for 3 months but this seems to keep coming up and i am hearing it dictated both ways. Thanks ahead of time for any help :)
