Modifier -22 is used in conjunction with a surgery code, that explains that it was complex or more d
Subject: Modifier -22 is used in conjunction with a surgery code, that explains that it was complex or more difficult.
I am a MT and a medical biller. Say for instance we use a regular surgery code 29880 (arthroscopy of the knee) and we might add a -22 if this procedure was more difficult than usual. We increase our fees for the surgery due to the difficulty, thus the -22 indicates why we upped our fees. Hope this helps and was not too confusing.

Subject: I disagree re: deep-seated versus deep-seeded
I believe deep-seeded may be correct. It is a term frequently used in oncology and dermatology. "Deep-seeded" means that something has been "seeded" from another site (primary), as in metastasis. Please do a Google search and form your own opinion on this.

Subject: BLANKS
is it okay to put many blanks throughout the document if I'm not exactly sure what he is saying and some things he says make absolutely no sense? (sometimes 2 per paragraph in places) Is it okay to put a blank so he checks that word to make sure its right? these are 9 page long psych reports. It's not cut and dried medical terms and phrases. I'm thinking I should put blanks just to make sure it's right instead of typing what i think he is saying. what do you do
?
