Attempting to measure x-ray images after they are taken can often result in inaccuracies, x-ray rulers are an intelligent manner of observing and labeling the actual size of body parts in the image. Radiopaque rulers can be included during x-ray procedures, leaving a clear measurement right on the x-ray image itself.
