Clinical makes sense.

It means no biopsy or imaging or other testing was done, but on palpation, lymph nodes felt swollen.

If you have ever gotten very sick and it turned out to be strep throat, mumps or mononucleosis, and maybe before going to the MD, your neck hurt, so you reached up and found your nodes to be swollen. Your MD would call these clinically swollen lymph nodes. :o)

I thought the MD was stuttering at first, stumbling and then she asked about *representation* - and I responded to that.......
