Aortoiliac bypass graft versus aortic-iliac bypass graft
Subject: Aortoiliac bypass graft versus aortic-iliac bypass graft

Can someone tell me whether aortoiliac bypass graft or aortic-iliac bypass graft is proper? I seem to find it both ways when I do a Google search.  Is there a difference?

 cannula or canula?
Can someone tell me definitively which it is? I remember some time back of looking this up either in a Dorland's dictionary or some surgery book from when I worked at another hospital and finding out that these two are interchangeable. Well for years now I've been using one or the other. But I keep getting feedback from QA that "canula" is wrong. I've found several websites that confirm the use of both but just as many that say "cannula" is the only option. I don't have a Dorland's so if someone here does, please check it for me. It could very well be in the surgery book too, of which I don't have that particular one. I know I didn't pull this out of thin air.

I have never seen or typed cannula with only one N, but
Subject: I have never seen or typed cannula with only one N, but

 I googled this and found:

A cannula (from Latin "little reed"; plural cannulae) or canula is a tube which can be inserted into the body, often for the delivery or removal of fluid.

It seems that canula is not wrong and can be used, but I believe cannula is preferred. That is my take.

 there is peripheral bypass surgery
Subject: there is peripheral bypass surgery

How Is Peripheral Vascular Disease Treated?
There are two basic ways to treat atherosclerotic disease: medication, surgery, and minimally invasive interventional procedures such as stent implantation and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. The purpose of these treatments is to eliminate or reduce the symptoms you may have.
Medications can be used alone or in combination with one of the treatments. While medications do not eliminate the narrowing of arteries, they can help improve the efficiency of the heart and reduce symptoms such as leg pain, claudication, and hypertension.
In some cases, bypass surgery may be required in the peripheral arteries if the atherosclerosis is severe enough. Bypass surgery is a way of creating new channels to carry blood around the blocked areas in your peripheral arteries. With the patient under general anesthesia, surgeons take a portion of a small blood vessel from the leg or chest to use as the new "bypass artery." They sew or "graft" one end of the bypass to the affected artery and the other end to the artery beyond the narrowed area. Blood then flows through the new grafted vessel, "bypassing" or avoiding the blockage in the peripheral artery.
Some of the common surgeries in the peripheral anatomy are femoral-popliteal bypass (for the legs) and renal artery bypass (for the kidneys). Pt. having femoral popliteal bypass.
Subject: Pt. having femoral popliteal bypass.

The above knee popliteal artery was identified distal in the adductor canal and dissected out behind the knee and encircled proximal and distal with silastic tapes. A large calcification of both vessels was noted. A s/l Skanlin tunneler was used to create a subcutaneous tunnel.
