it really saddens (and scares me) when I get blasted for using BOS as a reference. BOS is not perfect, but it's what we have as our chief reference, and it is answering many of the questions posed here.

That made my day. That was the only way to express my excitement! It was not easy to find and yet I'm still not sure that's correct but if the word fits...type it!

What a great name! I was thinking DVT prophylaxis also - does make the most sense but didn't know if it could be something else.

ER, I have always found chemo drugs pretty difficult and changing all the time. Chuck, I learn something every day on this board, that is why I come here so thanks for the correction.
Kathleen, thanks for the link. Sure will be helpful.
This is what a good forum is all about, helping each other and learning. Even with years of experience I love it that I can learn something new (and try to) every day.

That's exactly what it is. This doc is from Croatia, so sometimes his pronounciation completely throws me. I only have two guys with accents - Croatia and Turkey, so all in all I'm really, really fortunate. Tonight, my brain had just shut down.

i think it's because "small" and "moderate" are COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES and the grammar experts say not to use a hyphen with comparative or superlative adjectives...geez...language is so weird, and MT is so hard, hyphens are the LEAST of our worries, yes? =)

Either this word was a new one on me or I just have not typed it in ages. The doctor was ESL so he was hard to understand.
Word for the day?
Refractoloxanticomb (brain) though it won't come up in Google unless you separate the refract and xanticomb.
I think, if they truly do take an English 101 course, they must also take a "made up medical terminology class". LOL.

I use google 24/7 but then you must double-check where the information is actually coming from, a legitimate (NIH) medical website or a bulletin board or some website that isn't regulated by any medical group, understand? I remember first googling Spironolactone and google had it misspelled! So, I make sure the info is coming from rxlst.com or drugs.com or any govt-regulated site....
Hope that helps. Orthopedics was my first field 29 years ago and it's always been patellofemoral, all relating to what you described while asking about patellAfemoral (as I know it, no such word with the a).
