D5 half-normal saline is correct - I think BOS
Subject: D5 half-normal saline is correct - I think BOS
it's one bag of dextrose and half-normal saline - 1 bag. They always say D5 half-normal saline. In 30 years, I never heard them say *D5 in half-normal saline*.....I have heard D5 and half-normal saline though.
BOS, while I respect it and use it all the time, is not the end-all, be-all on many subjects and there are errors AND inconsistencies throughout the BOS.

Subject: Afrin is correct, nasal saline is not capitalized. sm
Rebecca, has anyone told you yet about a great website for looking up drugs? www.rxlist.com You can use wildcards there. For instance, you heard the Af correctly. To find the rest you would do Af* and a selection would pop up from which to choose. If you only heard the second part of the term well you would do (for example) *frin.
