Doctor says: The patient was admitted for IV antibiotics for facial cellulitis after progression of the infection while initially taking <s/l amoxiclav> by mouth.
I can't find a drug with that name, so I'm thinking it's just short for amoxicillin and clavulanate, in another report it said she was on Augmentin which would make sense. Has anyone else heard it shortened like that before?

Vets use a med with this name (Amoxycillin and clavanic (sp?) acid) ....not sure if it has been approved for humans as I've been "out of it" for a year now but I would think your reasoning is probably pretty close to accurate. Have you tried calling a pharmacist for verification if you haven't been able to document otherwise?
