newer, usually heaped-up tissue from a wound, i.e. exuberant granulation tissue.. Really old term. Don't hear it much from the newer residents.

I think it is proud flesh....which is what happens when a wound is healing...it's an excessive growth of granulation tissue

The s/l proud flesh was debrided away. I found proud flesh as a term used on horses but never heard this used by an MD.
