Not sure if pyridoxine would be used this way. Also, cannot find dosage of 15 or 50 mcg.

The hospital grade has benzocaine as an active ingredient and can be used prior to endoscopy or insertion of a breathing tube, etc.
The OTC grade has Phenol, which is a 'watered down version' of benzocaine.
Oftentimes, the hospital pharmacy will prepare a 1:1 mix of OTC Chloraseptic and benzocaine as a topical anesthetic for the throat.
