Knee pain status post skiing injury, open reduction and internal fixation with tibiofemoral bone grafting. Subsequent collapse and valgus deformity.
X-rays showed evidence of s/l mi-___ (then he possibly says joint)arthritis involving predominantly the lateral and patellofemoral compartment. He has hardware in the lateral aspect of his tibia.
Impression: Osteoarthritis.
The s/l is really garbled, but I'm hoping someone can connect it with the context. This will be the only blank in the report, so not a big problem.....I'd just like to know, if possible. Thanks!!
Robinul catheter mystery solved
Subject: Robinul catheter mystery solved
A while back I posted a question about a catheter that was being dictated in a urologic or gynecologic procedure that sounded very much like Robinul, but I couldn't document any such catheter and was flagging it only to find QA put in Robinul. I thought maybe, just maybe it was red rubber or something like that. Well, I've heard the catheter mentioned in various procedures since then, and it really, really sounds like Robinul. Just now, however, I had an ENT procedure dictated, and I tried googling it spelled as a-r-o-b-i-n-u-l, and Google redirected me to the correct spelling. It's Rob-Nel!!!! I'm soooooo glad to have this mystery solved. Just thought I'd share in case this information could be of use to anyone else!

she was looking for the plural form of decubitus, saying she got stumped by it. I responded very simply to that. I did not feel I needed to correct her use of "pleural" as was not her question and just quickly wanted to help her, and checked my medical references to do so. I pointed out that there are no plural form for decubitus. This is all correct. What is your problem. I was trying to help an MT with correct and verfified medical transcription help, now I know why I stay away from any message boards, always someone who wants a fight. Whatever.
