No, don't cap gram-negative. The test Gram stain is capitalized - per Stedmans Inf Dis Book. -s

Also, I worked in a lab for many years, and gram-negative and gram-positive are not capitalized. Gram is the name of the doctor or scientist who came up with the staining test, Gram stain, so that is capped.

Isn't g an acceptable abbreviation for gram?
Subject: Isn't g an acceptable abbreviation for gram?

I had QA correct this:

MiraLax 7.5 g to be taken to MiraLax 7.5 grams to be taken .

If 7.5 g is wrong I've been doing it wrong for a long time.  It's not on the forbidden abbreviation list in the BOS, so now I'm stumped.

Anyone have an opinion on this?  Thanks!
