I looked up "hair tourniquet" to find that it affects mostly infants, a hair wrapped tightly around an extremity or the external genitalia causing extreme discomfort. The patient returns today three years after her anteroposterior reconstruction for flat back deformity. No pain. She is here, however, because she has some prominence in her back that has gotten progressively more pronounced.
