I have an ortho doc dictating a computer-assisted bilateral total knee arthroplasty, and he says:
The knee was then opened in a straight midline fashion and the patella subluxed laterally with vastus splitting and the knee flexed up. The demographics of the knee were then locked in, which included the center of the femoral head, the center of the femur, medial and lateral joint surfaces, posterior condyles, anterior cortex, Whitesides line on the femur, on the tibia, center of the tibia, AP axis, medial and lateral joint surfaces and medial and lateral malleoli.
I'm not exactly sure what the Whitesides line is. Is it a mark the computer or doctor makes or is it an anatomical landmark? Would the Whitesides line be on the femur and on the tibia?
I think ortho docs rank right up there with podiatry docs. I think they're some of the worst dictators there are. They dictate fast and run their sentences together and just figure you understand completely where they're going and what they mean, and I don't always. Ortho is one of my least favorite specialties!

Title of procedure: A 24-hour pH probe study.
Then we pulled the probe 2 inches above the level between the acidic and non-acidic line and then we taped it and anchored it and the baby started the breast-feeding right away after the probe placement.
