My doc is saying that the patient has a lesion on her left upper forehead at the s/l "trickle" junction. I know "trich-" or "tricho-" has to do with hair, but the only thing I found was a single reference online to a "Pre-trichal" (around a hair follicle) reference in a file I did not want to open and save to my computer. Stedman's has a "pretrichial", but doctor definitely says "trickle"(phonetically) with no "pre". Any thoughts? Thanks for your help!

This is SBE prophylaxis (subacute bacterial endocarditis) which is given to patients with heart valve disease. When dental work is done, this causes the bacteria from the mouth to go into the system and can cause vegetation on one or more of the heart valves....which is a very serious and possibly life-threatening situation. Most surgeries require this be done before the procedure, even certain nonsurgical procedures that may be less invasive, require it as well. However, the guidelines are less stringent than they were previously. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know which I'm to use or are these both right; fleur-de-lis or fleur-de-lys?
I get both in internet searches, it wasn't even in my medical dictionary but they're both in Webster's and says both are correct.
The sentence in question is: "The patient returns status post modified fleur-de-lis panniculectomy." Sounds like 'flur d lee'.
Any thoughts on this?
