Subject: Spell check is not always correct. If the

doc says Theo-Dur then that is what you type. We are not in the business of changing the dictation when it is correct. If you can verify your spelling through legitimate sources then use that and add the corrected word to the spellcheck.

I have found several misspellings in mine, and they were not ones I put in, came with the program, so what I do is put the correct one in the spellcheck and make an expander with the incorrect spelling so that in case I should spell it that way, the spellcheck will not just skip it, it will be automatically corrected.

Subject: help. Spell check isn't liking "toxidrome"

It was sutured in 4-0 nylon running in 1 simple interrupted suture.  Urine drug screen was positive for THC.  A urine hCG was negative.  At this point, I do not see any sign of acute toxidrome.

It sounds like "running" but not sure.  Here's how toxidrome is being used.  TIA

Medical spell check and word expander
Subject: Medical spell check and word expander

Hi, Could anyone tell me, please, where I can download a GOOD, but CHEAP Medical spellchecker and word expander program?  I just got a new computer with Vista and my Shortcuts program or dictionary (Dorland's) will not work.  I have been off work for a while and need desperately to work, but I'm lacking money to buy those.  Info would be appreciated.  I've spent hours looking on the Net.  Thanks!!

I spell them out (i.e., second, third, fourth) because I am old and disslike what the word processor does to the alternative. I do, however, do a suprascript for exponents (i.e., "cm2" with the "2" smaller and above), but that's just me.
