non-small cell or nonsmall cell?
Subject: non-small cell or nonsmall cell?

I was taught that typically we do not use hyphens but QA changed mine.  That doesn't mean it is correct (as we all know), so thought I would ask you all.

Thanks for your help!

Subject: patient has non small cell carcinoma...modality for s/l swog-por-risk protocol. sm pls.

Should the disease be localized to the chest without any nodules seen, he is at best a locally advanced stage 3b non small cell carcinoma.  Recommendations at that point would be for combined modality therapy, perhaps on the Swog-Por-risk protocol.

Testicular cancer.  Yolk or York?   I did a google search and York University has a lot of research papers on such subjects.  Otherwise, nada.

I know there are yolk sac tumors but that's a different type.

Yes, that would be helpful. Here is most of the paragraph:

To QA- I understand what verbatim means-you do not need to tell me, and especially not with sarcasm and bossiness.  The word(s) you added were not in the dictation. In other words, what you apparently heard is not what I heard.

Thanks, I feel better.

I don't hear an L sound - widely would have been my best guess, but it really doesn't sound like it. His inflection makes it sound like a two-part adjective, like topsy-turvy. He says "Vulva: Diffuse whitey-warty lesion on the left side...." I can't verify anything like that. I don't usually have to blank or flag this guy's reports - this might be the first!
