I think AHDI members pay $190, nonmembers pay $275. I was part of a credentialing cup this spring where 10 of us from a study group signed up at the same time and it only cost $150 whether you were an AHDI member or not.

Subject: cost

The cost was $150 for the multiple choice part of the test (which you have to pass before you took the second part) and $150 for the transcription part of the CMT test and this was back in the late 1990s when I took the CMT test.  That was when it was nice to have the credentials but I did not get any acknowledgment or any more money back then for having the initials.  I let my CMT lapse as it is major money each year to get the CCU's in order to keep your CMT.  You need to go to lectures or classes that offer CCU's.  Not sure how you go about getting those anymore.  We had local monthly meetings and yearly state conventions and county conventions and were offered many CCU's for each convention and those were fun and educational to attend back in the good old days.

Wish we still were in the good old days.  I was even president of my local AAMT meetings too, and I really thought it meant something and it was a pleasure then, but things have SOOOOO changed.  And not for the better.

we MTs had very few references, certainly no Google. We would beg doctors to give us their old PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) and would find lots of our S/L there. We oldsters were definitely word detectives in our day.

I never said that I transcribed that word ~ I only mentioned that the doctor (sm)
Subject: I never said that I transcribed that word ~ I only mentioned that the doctor (sm)

spelled it that way (I always left a blank in the report ~ he would always "write" it in when he got the report back). This was many, many years ago when I worked in-house. I honestly thought it was a "made-up" word as he was the only doctor who used it (I have never heard it used since), so I was surprised to hear of somebody else stumbling onto the same word (or something similar). By no means did I intend to mean that that was the "correct" spelling or that I used that word ~ I apologize if that is how my message was read. :)
