when i google it. They talk about Teflon and Dacron felt strips, like a graft to reinforce the closure. They are from reliable sources, like Journal of Cardiac Surgery, but they are ones you need to pay for to be a member to read the articles. I would say you are safe with "felt strip", it never was hyphenated.

Some of these docs do refer to "still living" docs that develop certain surgical procedures that haven't been recorded in the permanent annals of medicine.
