It's hard to tell exactly, unless you're able to hear the full context but it sounds to me like it is the "continuous passive motion" machine in both instances as, in the first paragraph, the way it is worded would sound odd if expanded, but with docs these days, who really knows??? She is to continue on the continue present management until that time. See, what I'm saying??? :-)
