Everything can't come from the BOS. Some things we do have to 'wing it' so to speak. I have a verbatim account and can only type PRN, no periods, all caps, so that's how it would be done. P.r.n. Tylenol doesn't look right, so I would have to put it PRN Tylenol.

So if the patient is allergic, they would premedicate with Benadryl. They do that before a lot of diagnostic procedures.

Subject: Proper way to type height measurements
What is the correct way to type height measurements. For example, doctor says "5 foot 1 inch". Normally when the number is pleural, it should be "feet", but the doctors always say "foot". Also, is there a comma between the foot and inches. Such as, "5 foot, 1 inch"? TIA

I wonder if the physician is referring more to the shape of the catheter and not a type of catheter. Conch means shell shaped. If that is true, then you are correct in typing "conch catheter".
