You can search on part of the word. Also it never hurts to try googling the word, especially if you have some other pertinent words to use in the search as well. If you're close enough, Google will sometimes give it to you. There's also Google Suggest, particularly helpful if you know the begining of words or phrases but not the end. As you type, it starts giving a list of suggestions. Hope some of that helps.

Forgive me if somebody has already posted this, but for those of us that like to use the wildcard search in OneLook, they now have a feature that will allow you to sort the results by meaning.
For example, before, if you were searching for a drug that starts with an "h" and ends in "ide," you would type "h*ide" into the search box, and the search would generate 3 pages of results that you would have to sift through. However, now they have a feature that can filter the results by meaning. So if you typed "h*ide:drug" in OneLook's search box, the search will only bring back results related to drugs. In this instance it only brings up 2 single matches as opposed to 3 pages of results you would get with a general search.
You can read more about it here: http://www.onelook.com/?c=faq#patterns (under #5, Advanced tips for using wildcard patterns)
Hope this helps some of you out!

You'll see it come up, click on that, and it will direct you to numerous dictionaries in which it is found. Click on one under the medical dictionary. Onelook is a very good place to look up words or parts of words, as you can only request the part you know. Hope this helps.
