Hi. I do quite a bit of OP notes with lots of deliveries and surgeries for OB/GYN. I do agree with the previous post that those books would be extremely helpful, but I totally understand being strapped for cash (single mom with three kids here). I thought this website might offer you some help until things start to get a little better for you. You will find links here for just about everything.
I hope this helps. Good luck with everything and congratulations on your upcoming wedding

for the past 10-15 minutes - I wish my plastic surgeons, who use the V.A.C. System all the time and I've been working for them 10+ years - would have corrected me over ALL this time......*cyberslaps them* *LOL*
Well, I thank you and the person who posted the corrrect answer (was that you?).....for sending me in the right direction. Actually it's better because now I will type in the periods and that's 3 more character spaces to get paid for *rofl*

Can you tell me again where this site is? It's sooooooooo helpful!!

Website for transcription
Subject: Website for transcription
Does anyone remember a website (something "Hazel"?) that had phrases that might be used in transcription? I transcribe for a doc that uses a lot of phrases such as "tincture of time," and since he's sometimes hard to understand, I thought this website might help me. There were other topics at this website like a list of slang words that might be used in patient records. I've used Google, but can't seem to find it. I went to that website a very long time ago, so it may not even still exist.
I'm a bit ashamed to admit that in my 40+ years of life and 23+ years of transcribing, I had never heard the phrase "tincture of time", or some of the other phrases this doctor uses!
Thanks!

I've added it to my favorites. I appreciate the info on that site. Unfortunately, no Braun or Brawn heart surgery term was listed. I think this must be really new or something, or a local thing. I'm assuming it is an eponym.

Elevated or absent acoustic reflex thresholds (ie, >100 dB SPL) for any given frequency may suggest sensorineural or conductive hearing loss, facial nerve disorder, or middle ear disorder. Reflexes usually are absent or cannot be recorded if the patient has type B tympanograms; therefore, acoustic reflexes generally are not tested in these ears.

I don't think there's a way to determine for sure. The fact that "another doctor" said it was ACL doesn't mean that's what they've decided the problem is. On the other hand, he could have switched "ACL" with "LCL" (like they always do right and left, metatarsal/metacarpal, etc.) Don't think there's a way to tell for sure. Sorry!

I recently had to delete my Firefox browser because of major problems! With the deletion, I managed to delete all of my favorite MT places! Does anyone know of a good link for a bacteria website? I had a really good one that listed anything and everything you could ever think or imagine as far as bacteria is concerned.. didn't know there was so MUCH bacteria out there! Anyway, anyone have any ideas on good sites!

Does anyone know a good website for op-notes...
Hi, does anyone have any websites that are good for surgical words? I have limited books, try to use Int. for most everything. I use surg. instrument sites to look up tools, but not always successful or spend too much time looking through their quite extensive catalog. Thanks for your help...Suzy
