The "y" symbol: an important classification tool for neoadjuvant cancer treatment

Brierley JD, Greene FL, Sobin LH, Wittekind C (2006). The "y" symbol: an important classification tool for neoadjuvant cancer treatment. Cancer 106(11):2526-2527.

The use of preoperative adjuvant therapy is becoming increasingly frequent for a number of tumours; both chemotherapy and radiotherapy either singly or combined affect the anatomic extent of disease. Therefore, the pathologic classification after preoperative therapy may not reflect the true anatomic extent of disease before treatment. Therefore, only the clinical classification should be recorded for cancer registry and epidemiologic purposes. To indicate that the clinical or pathologic classification has been determined after preoperative therapy, the TNM classification of the International Union Against Cancer and American Joint Committee on Cancer includes a prefix “y”, with yc indicating the clinical classification and yp the pathologic classification.

Seven Flowers is an anti-hypertensive Chinese herbal formula that may nutritionally help lower blood pressure, lower lipid and cholesterol levels, and have a calming effect on the body, without the usual side effects. Many people have found great relief with Seven Flowers. They sleep better, live calmer and relate to stress better. This rare, all natural flower extract formula triggers mechanisms which mobilize the body's own biochemical makeup. It contains a proprietary blend of: Black Moss, Chrysanthemum, Honeysuckle, Radix Notoginseng, Sophora Japonica, Prunella Vulgaris and Cleistocalyx Operculatus.

Adults take 2-3 tablets 2 or three times a day or as directed.
