He says ..... was captured in the ciliary sulcus. It s/l he says haptic but from my research I find that the haptic is in the sulcus. Never saying it is captured. The optic is captured in the bag. So I am a wee bit confused. Any help would be great. Thanks.

However, it's a verbatim account. When QA and the doctor send it back to me telling me to do what they say, I do it no matter what my reference book or spellchecker say. The physicians are the ones who are making up new words or combining things, not me.

Apparently in CTS release, "pillar pain" is common. Found this:

If this help is needed all that emergently you should practice putting the word in the subject line so the reader doesn't have to open up all these darn boxes.
This is not a very reliable reference, but there is a word like your s/l in there.

The OP had used Google and found instances of both words being used. Sounds more like the OP was looking for some help with the proper usage of the word in the context of a report. I don't see why she (or he) caught any grief for asking for opinions on the proper term to use.

I was transcribing last night on a woman and the doc said quite clearly, twice, that she was post vasectomy. Okay, I figured that maybe this female once was a male. However, by the end of the report I knew that this was not the case. Anyway, I left a QA marker as I figured what the doc said was incorrect and I did not want to be the one to type that information down. I checked on the report today and QA had put in vasectomy, just as I thought he said.
Okay, so my question is: can women get vasectomies?? I thought it was impossible, but after yesterday my confidence is shaken. Women don't have the vas for the ectomy. If I am correct, then why would QA leave something so erroneus in a report? If it were me I would have left it blank.
Please, someone correct me if I am totally wrong.

Google on "degenerative disc disease" and "degenerative disk disease". I use "disc" when transcribing for my ortho clinic because, when I got the account and asked for samples, each and every sample on each and every report used "disc". No matter what your research tells you, you will do what the client says, especially when it doesn't really matter. And this does not really matter.
