mitral valve prolapse
excessive retrograde movement of one or both mitral valve leaflets into the left atrium during left ventricular systole, often allowing mitral regurgitation; responsible for the click-murmur of Barlow syndrome, and rarely may be due to rheumatic carditis, a connective tissue disorder such as Marfan syndrome, or ruptured chorda tendinea ("flail mitral leaflet").

Subject: an "autograft cadaveric pulmonary valve replacement?" (sm)
relatively new to cardiology- it sounds like the doc is saying that the patient is status post "aortic valve autograft cadaveric pulmonary valve replacement."
Am I just misunderstanding the terms, or am I mishearing what she's saying? I thought (could be mistaken?) that autograft meant it was grafted in from somewhere in your own body, and cadaveric meant it was taken from a cadaver. So how can a replacement be both autograft and cadaveric?

Procedure is:
ENDOSCOPIC BIOPSY OF THIRD VENTRICULAR TUMOR WITH FENESTRATION OF SEPTUM PELLUCIDUM AND CREATION OF A VENTRICULOPERITONEAL SHUNT.
SSentence:
A 0020 shunt assist and a _____ valve set to 110 was secured with 2-0 Ethibond sutures, and then it was brought down into the subgaleal compartment.
Not sure about the proper representation of "0020" shunt assist, either.
Same procedure:
The "Me-TOCK-a" holder was used, and then the first thing we did was make a curvilinear right frontal scalp incision with the midportion of the skin incision at the midline and the trajectory of the skin incision such that it could be extended to do a right frontoparietal craniotomy should this have to be done in the future.
Have checked Stedman's Med/Surg words, Neurosurg words, Google using wildcards, framing words, etc., cannot work my way to these. Thank you for any help.
