Abduction is movement AWAY from the center of the body (like abducting someone - you take them away).
Adduction is movement TOWARD the center of the body.
So unless you can see the patient or the x-rays or whatever, you may just have to listen carefully.

That's the only alternative knee view I can think of other than a sunrise view, but sunrise couldn't be mistaken for your sound-alike description at all.
