Local and MAC (monitored anesthesia care) are 2 types of anesthesia, so probably "Local/MAC" would be best. However, I don't think I have ever been dinged on QA for typing "Local MAC" with a space.

I have found 1 link to a CAIP unit on a Google search that was an abbreviation for a children and adolescent in-patient unit, but some of the patients they use this term with are not children or adolescents.
