"melted the top of the adenoids" does not make sense. Adenoids don't have a top. Can you hear something different now?

It sounds like he says this in an adenoidectomy:
We then were able to suction it (purulent material) and then "melted" the top of the adenoids utilizing a suction Bovie...
Anyone heard it described like that before?
