It usually takes me twice the time to transcribe the work. If the doc is easy and you can go right from one template/document to the next, it should only take you like 4 hours at the most. 10-12 hours is an awful long time. What kind of interruptions are you getting.

I have nothing bad to say about them - got a little hectic after the new year in 2006 but is settling down some now but changes are always happening in this field and many other fields out there and medquist is not exempt from said changes. Change is a constant in life, whether we like it, want it, or not. I have had a great production supervisor (PS) over all this time, especially the last 5 years who works with the MTs instead of against them (as COULD happen anywhere at any job).

Does anyone know how to make pages scroll up and down without having to use a mouse? I know I can hit arrow keys or page up and down, but what if you just want to move a few lines? Is there a fast way to do this that I don't know about? Using arrows takes too many keystrokes and page up and down moves too far down the page. I want to scroll as if I was using my roll bar on my mouse, only using the keyboard. Hope this question makes sense!!

that before. Do you current up-to-date anti-virus programs on your computer? You may want to check that out, or better yet, call a computer shop nearby and ask their advice. Once I had over 70 viruses on my computer, and had to have the entire hard drive wiped out and everything put back in. Once it gets that infected, you have to basically start over, and it would do really weird things like you are describing.

I'm going to be able to return to work very part time since my disability is getting a bit better. I have an offer to work as an independent contractor, probably not making more than 12 grand per year.
This will be my first time being a contractor and I'm boggled after reading the IRS info on the site. Do I need to file for a taxpayer ID# or can I just use my Social Security number? I think I can wade through paying the taxes, etc, but may have an accountant do this initially.
