It doesn't s/l anaphylactic (as in anaphylactic shock) - and when I did a search, there is no correlation between the word anaphylactic and strains.
Any ideas?
anaphylatic strain??
Subject: anaphylatic strain??
Hi Jenni I asked the experts at www.allexperts.com and this is what they told me.
Your Question was:
Advised the patient to consult a physical trainer, to build up right knee for (s/l)anaphylactic strain. The patient advised to use elastic support or athletic tape prior to playing soccer.
This is a transcription question.
The above statement don't make since the doctor is referring to a knee strain. Are you familiar with another term?
Because Hi Debra,
The transcription definately does not make any sense as an anaphylactic terms means that there was some sort of allergic reaction. There is no such term/syndrome that I know of in which the knee reacts allergically. Unless the doctor was just trying describe a strain in which the knee has developed a lot of swelling, redness and inflammatory response as a result of the strain.
The best I can come up with is that maybe the doctor is just prescribing some sort of support for a general strain of the knee. In that case, elastic support or athletic tape doesn't really support the knee in such high sports such as soccer which involves a great deal of pivoting. So if you need a support for the knee for soccer, I would recommend a hinged knee brace - not just elastic or tape.
sorry.
